Our story

Created on March 15, 2015 by Hervé Jacquens, Côte au Vent was born in Le François, Martinique, from a deep passion for the sea and a sincere attachment to the territory.

From the first day, the objective has remained the same: to offer authentic, warm and respectful excursions that showcase the white sandbanks, Josephine's Bath and Martinique's maritime history.

Over the years, the company has grown, without ever losing the essence that made it successful: 👉 simplicity, 👉 human proximity, 👉 and the desire to share the real Martinique, as experienced by its inhabitants.

Our values

🟩 Professionalism & Quality

Awarded the Qualité Tourisme label by the Martinique Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Côte au Vent guarantees a rigorous, welcoming, and consistent service. Our team, passionate about the sea and Creole culture, is constantly evolving to offer enriching, educational, and safe excursions. Each trip is designed to be a unique experience, deeply rooted in the identity of the Martinique coastline.

🟦 Engagement social & territorial

Côte au Vent is a company deeply rooted in its local area:

  • creation of sustainable jobs;
  • hosting young people for internships, work-study programs and professional immersion;
  • support for apprentices in BTS Tourism or digital professions;
  • support for local associations such as Yo Té Di (bébé-yole) or Madyn Grey.

These actions reflect our desire to be a useful player for the youth and maritime traditions of Le François.

🟧 Respect for the environment

Because the sea is our workplace and our shared heritage, we have made responsible navigation a pillar of our business:

  • zero anchoring in seagrass beds,
  • respecting official channels,
  • raising visitor awareness of biodiversity,
  • transmission of good practices to protect reefs and mangroves.

Manager's message

"When I created Côte au Vent in 2015, I wasn't just thinking about starting a business: I wanted to share my passion for the sea, showcase the riches of Martinique, and create genuine connections with people.

Today, I am proud to see this adventure grow thanks to a fantastic team and loyal customers who trust us. Without them, none of this would have been possible.

Our mission remains the same as it has been from the beginning: to be exemplary, to stay close to the people we welcome, to pass on knowledge to young people, and to respect the nature that surrounds us.

Thank you to everyone who is part of this beautiful story.
